The good thing about using a firewall app is that it also allows you to control which apps can and cannot access the internet. In fact, you can even configure the app to only allow apps to connect to the internet via WiFi and/or mobile data connection. In reality it does something really stupid like making a list of web sites to block. When that list overflows it just ignores my wishes and lets the other traffic thru. Seeing as how SnapChat isn't a web site, (its an app) this router doesn’t even try to block it. It's just oblivious! Their advertising and packaging doesn't lead me to believe I have found that this does not reliably block snapchat, at least not from a wifi connected ios device. It did appear to work one night, and then didn't the next day. I've noticed the dns entries for snapchat appear to be dynamic and really shows how unsafe the app really is for teens.
